No one else even thought about making an attempt to create Twilight as a movie modeled after the book written by the illustrious Stephanie Meyer until the magnificent Catherine Hardwicke did. Once someone realized that Summit Entertainment wasn't going to allow Ms.Hardwicke to direct the Twilight Saga New Moon, then decided they would like to step up a snatch it away before anyone could even have the chance to change their minds. I do admit that while I was outraged when I heard that she would be directing New Moon, I did so enjoy it anyway;yet I do still wonder what it would have appeared as had Catherine Hardwicke been directing instead of Chris Weitz.
