The Feast of the Hunter's Moon is AWESOME! Obviously it's been going on for the last 42 years. "The Feast of the Hunters' Moon is a re-creation of the annual fall gathering of the French and Native Americans which took place Fort Ouiatenon, a fur-trading outpost in the mid - 1700s. It is held annually in early autumn on the banks of the Wabash River, four miles southwest of West Lafayette, Indiana." http://www.tcha.mus.in.us/feast.htm. We sew our own gowns & undergarments, & no matter the weather camp out for 3-5 days at the Fort. 18th Century Colonial America, like Last of the Mohicans, is the only period in history that interests me enough to participate in re-enacting. A few years back modern camping started to flood so I hiked up my three petticoats & ran to the campground to save my tent. All the men were whistling because they could see my ankles. Not something you showed back in those days *wink*. I have to make a new gown, stay(corset), & wool cloak for this coming year. I'm pretty hard on my gear.
